CONGRATULATIONS TO MISS RORI
who received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Red Robinson Show Theatre on Sunday, May 24, presented at the Peak Invitational Honors Performance. Here is a photo of Rori after receiving her award and the lovely speech that was given in her honor. A surprise performance from our senior dancers followed. Needless to say Miss Rori was overwhelmed and accepted her award with grace. We are all so very proud of her!

Miss Rori

I have the honour tonight of presenting this first Annual WEM award to a woman who represents the passion and true grace of dance. As a teacher, mother and studio owner, she embodies the qualities of this art at its purest level.

Our recipient is an enthusiastic supporter of all students, new or experienced, whether they are destined for first place, or are working diligently towards their own personal growth. She is as positive and supportive with students not in her own studio / school as she is of those with whom she works closely.

Through her extensive dedication as a teacher and her selfless work with the organizations she is associated with - she helps students develop so much more than simply technique and skill in dance: She nurtures the development of determination, inner strength, and confidence in one's ability to achieve goals.

She is celebrated by her peers. By her example she encourages a backstage community of respect, welcome and camaraderie.

No dancer works with her, or interacts with her, without feeling the benefit of her inspiration, the glow of her genuine appreciation of their efforts and enjoyment of dance as a whole.

To embody the talent of this lady please appreciate this next performance given in her honour.

LOOKING FOR SOME FUN - TRY THIS
We are looking for male and female adult cast members. We welcome beginners and those who want to re-kindle the spotlight on stage.

A one and a half hour class weekly in which we will work on a 20-40 minute adaptation of a popular Musical Theatre Show incorporating stage movement, acting, choreography and singing.

This class will be exciting, energizing, and a heap of fun. We will have a physical and vocal warm-up. Then the class will work on vocal production and projection. Patricia will teach you how to SELL a song in best Musical Theatre fashion!

This class will include work on solo, duo and trio cabaret numbers which we will present at a Cabaret Night sometime in March 2007. Cabaret material includes Kurt Weill (eg. Cabaret, 3 penny opera) Stephen Sondheim (A Little Night Music, Company), older jazz standards and some pop tunes.

Once our cast is underway we will book a great club or theatre venue for our "Cabaret Review" in real Cabaret style. This is a great opportunity to invite friends and family to sit around tables to enjoy good conversation, food, drink and tasteful entertainment.

Profits of our first ever Cabaret Review in collaboration with other performing artists will be donated to a local charity.
