"Just a quick note to thank you and your dancers for participating in our
Barbeque & Family day. You and your group did make a difference in that
we were able to raise some much needed funds for our pledge to Surrey
Memorial Hospital Capital Emergency Fund.
Again, thank you for your support. We hope you will participate next
year when our Festival will be even bigger and better."

"As this year of dance comes to a close, I would like to take this
opportunity to again say thank you for another wonderful year of dance!
We seemed to be busier than ever with dance this year, and while
stressful at times, Alexa and I also had a lot of fun.
I know it is because of you "Team" ( both of you, all of your dance
teachers, Pam, Heather and the PAC) that the dance year ran so
efficiently. Competitions, costumes, picture day and of course the
recital seemed to go by without too much of a hitch.
Fabulous Feet 2007, in my opinion, was one of the best recitals that I
have ever been to. It flowed so smoothly, and all the dance numbers were
great. I do have to add that the James Bond number had me laughing out loud!
Working backstage at the recital is and always has been a great
experience. I have done it for 3 years now and there seems to a sense of
camaraderie and such a willingness to help out by all the volunteers. I
am always glad to be apart of that and would encourage every parent to
volunteer backstage at least once, I know they would be hooked.
So thank you to both of you and to your "Team" for all your hard work
and dedication.
We hope you have a wonderful summer and a well deserved holiday."

"Thank you all so much for being our dance school of choice for the past
five years.
It is with great sadness that we have decided to enroll Cheyanne in a
different dance studio. After moving homes one year ago, we decided that
the commute was too difficult and stressful for our family. We have
found another dance studio walking distance to our home, and have made
the difficult decision to leave Surrey Dance Centre.
Surrey Dance Centre was my first choice of many schools that I went and
looked at when first enrolling Cheyanne in a “serious” dance school. The
first person I met when walking through the doors was Tracy. She was
smiling and answered all my questions graciously. I then went on to meet
Rori who treated both Cheyanne and myself with the respect and honesty.
After Cheyanne was enrolled and attending the school for a couple of
months, I realized what a gem I had found.
Tracy and Rori, you run your studio with dignity and enthusiasm. You
expect much from your students and return, receive the up most respect
and dedication from them. The quality of dance instruction and the
dedication to your passion is next to none.
I know we will never find another studio such as yours and are grateful
for the years we have spent with you. My family and I will all miss the
studio, the teachers, the parents whom we have become friends with and,
of course, the other students that Cheyanne became friends with.
I would not hesitate to recommend Surrey Dance Studio to anyone I meet
and look forward to seeing you all at competitions and festivals.
Thank you for five amazing years of dance.
Thank you for helping Cheyanne to develop from a shy and somewhat
awkward little girl into a lovely, postured and self assured young lady.
For that, we will be forever grateful.
Good luck to all of you, and see you at the competitions!!!"

"Tracy Dekker and I have had an open, honest friendship for nearly 25 years. Her passion for life and people attracted
me to her the first time I met her. We started our relationship by her being a hard working student of mine, then an admired and respected
colleague and most recently a knight in shining armor coming to my rescue by gathering up some of her students costumes and delivering them
to me so that my students would be able to make their performance when my costume order was late. She would help anyone that she could,
without hesitation and without expectations. That's why I love her so much. I recommend her and her studios to any of my students that move
to her area because I trust her, her abilities, her intentions and business practices to be of the highest standards."

"Congratulations on yet another successful season at Surrey Dance Centre.
It is rare in this highly competitive business to find camaraderie that is so genuine and I feel very fortunate
to be able to share mutual respect of one another's accomplishments since meeting you in the early 1980's.
Transcending from individual business owners to partnership has not only further established your position in
the dance industry, you have escalated into one the most professionally run dance studios in the lower mainland, and proven your longevity
is based on excellence in instruction, integrity and a true love of the arts.
The long list of students who have gone on to their own career achievements and success has made you both a strong
resource in our dance community for calling on expertise that is both sound and stable. Your training ground has provided a new generation
of artists from which to draw upon, carrying on a strong tradition of creativity, artistry, and professionalism.
It gives me great pride to consider you not only highly respected colleagues, but to also call you dear friends.
I wish you both continued success and look forward to many more years of our association built through the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland
dance community."

"There is nothing more notable in Socrates than that he found time, when
he was an old man, to learn music and dancing, and thought it time well spent."
--Michel de Montaigne
"I can say that my last 10 years has been time well spent. My daughter's
love for dance started at the age of six. At first, it was for fun and recreation, but
soon became a daily ritual to the dance studio; learning ballet, jazz, tap,
modern/contemporary, musical theatre, and hip hop. Surrey Dance Centre and devoted
staff provided a safe and nurturing environment. She soon realized that the discipline
required for dancing could also be used in her daily life. Because of this, she has
become a very successful student and an active member of the community. Dance has taught
her to have a great appreciation for all arts; learning to live with an open mind and
heart. It has made her aware of the importance of having respect both for herself and
those around her. Furthermore, through dance she has realized the benefits of regular
physical activity, which will surely benefit her well into her later years. Overall,
dance has provided years of enjoyment and created memories and friendships that will
last a lifetime."

"I was with Surrey Dance Centre for 14 years and to this day I can
honestly say those were the best years of my life. The studio became a second home to
me along with the teachers, staff and students. Growing up is hard enough, let alone
some the cards fate may deal us. I went through hardships and struggles throughout
those years and it was Surrey Dance Centre that got me through it all. If it weren't
for that environment, especially the teachers, I don't know where I would be today. It
always was so much more than a dance studio. It was a place where you could go and not
be judged, but instead be embraced for being YOU and all your uniqueness. Throughout
those 14 years, I've seen people of all shapes, sizes, colors and ages, treated with
equality and made to realize their passions and conquer their fears. The directors
believe in ALL their students encouraging them to challenge themselves, so they can
grow not only as a dancer but also as a human being. To this day, even in my adult
life, I still talk and see those teachers that played such important roles and my
relationship with them is just as spiritual."

"You have always had my respect and admiration for conducting yourselves and your business with the utmost in honesty, integrity, and concern for the best interests of not only your students-but others as well.
Please be assured that if anyone were to ask my opinion they would recieve a glowing report from myself or anyone else associated with me."

"My daughter started her dance training at age 5 with Rori Bruschinksky
and continued when "Rori's Dance Academy" joined "That's Jazz" and became "Surrey Dance
Centre". At Surrey Dance Centre my daugter's love of dance continued to grow. The training
she received was so thorough. By the age of 12 she had competed at the Provincial level
twice already. The positive feedback she received and continues to receive, on her
technical ability and choreography was proof of the training she received at Surrey
Dance Centre. For my daughters continued growth in her world of dance, we have moved
to another studio this year. I would not hesitate to recommend Surrey Dance Centre to
anyone looking for a professionally run, well rounded studio where they can be sure
their children are getting the best training and choreography available."

"I have known Tracy Dekker since 1988, when I was employed by her as a
ballet teacher and office assistant at her dance school called "That's Jazz School of
Dance". Through a joint venture summer school with four cooperating Surrey dance schools,
I also came to know Rori Bruschinsky.
My relationship with Tracy Dekker during the years that I worked for
her enabled me to get to know her as a dance teacher, studio director and personally. At
all times, Tracy clearly showed a true passion for dance dedication to excellence, sincere
caring for her students and fair and honest business practises with her employees and
customers. I have no hesitation offering support to Tracy Dekker, to confirm that she
is, to the best of my knowlegdge, a thoroughly honest business person, and a caring and
competent dance teacher. Though I know Rori Bruschinsky less well, it was clear during
the time we worked together that her intentions in her work at her dance school were also
honest and for the best interests of her students."

"I would just like to take this opportunity to say thank you to you and all of the teachers at Surrey Dance Centre for another great year of dance. It seems like the studio has become our home away from home. It is not a chore to drop A.D. for dance but has become a time for socializing with the other parents while I wait. I know A.D. is always excited to go to her dance classes and talks constantly about her teachers and classmates. This last year, especially, she has seemed to blossom at this studio and I know it is due in large part because of the love of dance instilled in her by everyone at Surrey Dance Centre.
Since my older daughter danced at Rori's studio for her 10 years of dance, there was never a question as to where we would go when A.D. started to dance 5 years ago. We have always been treated fairly and been kept informed as to what was expected of us throughout the years. I know I also have high expectations of the studio and these expectations have always been met. I like the level of commitment and attention to detail that studio expects of the dancers (and parents) as I believe that this is what builds and molds the character of the dancers that will only benefit them later in their lives.
What can I say of Pam and Heather? They are simply the best people that you could hope to have in their position. They both have daughters that have danced since they were little, so they are a wealth of information and can answer any questions that I may have whether it is studio related or dance mom related. How to rag hair, how to do buns, what's expected of us at competitions, workshops, etc. They are always willing and offering to help out as needed.
A.D. was thrilled with her award for "Most Promising Dancer" that was presented to her at recital this year. She proudly displays it on her wall and will remember it as her first ever award that was just for her. I believe that she did work very hard this year at all of her dances so thank you for recognizing the extra effort that she displayed. My son Adam danced for the first time this year in a hip hop class; he really enjoyed it and absolutely loved doing the recital. My thanks to Heather because I know Adam was not always the dream student!
I can only imagine all the hard work, effort and personal time that goes into running the dance studio, but know that from where I sit and what I see, you both make it look easy and like you have fun doing it. So as I said at the beginning, thank you both for a great year of dance and I am looking forward to the start of another year in September!
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!!"

"I've been with Surrey Dance Centre for 7 years now, and from day one they never disciminated
about my physical disabilities. All the teachers welcomed and accepted me into a warm, loving environment where
I was able to learn to dance."

"All of the teachers are nice and push each individual to do their best.
They give there students great opportunities like S.T.A.R. Team to make us not just a better
dancer, but a better person. The students are amazing and fun to be around. After being there
for many years your classmates become more like friends! It is a friendly environment and a fun place to be"

"Dance is the one thing in the world that you don't need to know a language to communicate to people. It allows you to connect with people on a different level. When you talk to someone you can hide your true intentions, when you dance, you are naked. Your intentions are shown whether you are on stage performing in front of 100 people or if you are dancing in front of your bedroom mirror. Dance in my opinion, is the truest form of communication to another.
For me, I started dancing because I wanted to be like Lauren and Jess. I wanted to be like my "Super Cool" older cousins. Very soon, I came to learn, and to love it. From "jumping over the puddle" to "dance like it is your last performance" I have developed and learned, step by step much like a math equation. I have learned so much about confidence and stage presence. Without dance, I may not be involved in my other passion( Drama) because I just might have a terrible dose of stage fright. I have learned how to connect with an audience, trying to keep them engaged and interested. I have learned that it isn't always just a dancers ability that keeps them enthralled, but the dancers presence. When I dance on stage I feel amazing. I try to perform like it is my very last performance, and regrettably, I had to dance my last performance the other night.
Wow! Thirteen years of having to teach me. That is quite the task that you have had and for that I thank-you. I am very, very excited to be playing hockey next year. I really love it, and I want to learn something new, expand my horizons. I love dance so much. It is a huge part of me, for 13 out of 16 years I have been attached to That's Jazz and Surrey Dance Centre, and now I am leaving.....COLD TURKEY. It is insane. I am going to miss you guys so much. I am going to miss you most of all. You have been on of the biggest inspirations in my life. I have learned so much about dance, and being the best that I can be. You are an amazing teacher, and an amazing woman. You have brought our little That's Jazz to a big booming Surrey Dance Centre. That is an amazing accomplishment.
I will miss you, Rori and the studio so much. I hope that you will not forget me because I will NEVER ever forget you. I honestly cannot thank-you enough for everything that you have helped me achieve. Leaving is very hard for me to accept right now, it is hard to think of my life without a constant weekly schedule. I would like to sincerely wish you the best if luck with the Studios and all of your future dancers. I hope that they have the opportunity to learn from such a wonderful woman as you. I can only hope that in the next step in my life, I have such a great and influential mentor as I did at Surrey Dance Centre.
I promise to come visit!!!"
